Update: The official site has updated with a high quality version of the ad. Filb.de and 2ch.net have recently released a low-quality video featuring a commercial for the upcoming games Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. The commercial promotes the pre-ordering of the games on Saturday, July 4.

Movie 12 site updates with mysterious silhouettes: Official site gets redesigned

The official Japanese Web site for the 12th Pokémon movie has been redesigned. It also received some minor updates, including more information on Arceus and the Pikachu-colored Pichu. The update also includes some promotional merchandise — some of the goods feature mysterious silhouettes with question marks.

Pokémon Center stores to give Jirachi merchandise: In celebration of Tanabata

From July 21 to Aug. 28, players of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum can obtain limited merchandise featuring the legendary Jirachi in Japanese Pokémon Center stores. This can only be done by showing the special Jirachi knowing the move Draco Meteor obtainable from the Nintendo Zone or Wi-Fi from June 19 to July 17.

The official Japanese site of Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver has updated today. While it might seem that not much has been updated, going to the "Downloads" section of the site reveals the release date of the games. According to the wallpaper available for download, as well as the "Updates" portion of the site, the games will be released on Sept. 12. They will be sold for ¥4800.

ExtraLives, a group of high school students who play video game marathons to raise money for charity, is currently holding a Pokémon marathon. #PocketMonsters has reported that several codes for Melee! Pokémon Scramble were recently revealed by several sources. These sources include the official Japanese Pokémon site, Pokémon Daisuki Club, Japanese Pokémon Center stores, Pokémon Sunday, the World Hobby Fair and several Japanese magazines. These Pokémon have special moves they can use in the WiiWare game.

Secret Key available in Australia until July: Distribution through stores and Wi-Fi

The Secret Key, the item which grants players entrance to Rotom's Room in Pokémon Platinum, will be available in Australian Toys "R" Us and Target stores from June 25-July 5 in Australia and from Aug. 8-9 in New Zealand. The Wi-Fi distribution of the key item began June 8, and it will end on July 19. This distribution also includes North American editions.

European fan site PKMN.NET reports that, via translations of CoroCoro Comic, the Kanto region will in fact be in the game. Fans have been speculating if this will be included, due to Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen having the region, while the original Gold and Silver versions included the region.

Super Smash Bros. was released on the European Virtual Console today for 1,000 Nintendo Points. The game is yet to be released in North America. Super Smash Bros. was originally released on the Nintendo 64.

Update: Two more images have been released. Another set of images from CoroCoro were recently released, revealing more information on Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. The things shown here include new artwork for Professor Elm, Silver and the female Team Rocket Grunt, appearing more like they did in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. Sprites for both the characters Gold and Silver can also be seen.

The Dutch retailer Brandunit has updated their upcoming listings for Pokémon TCG, revealing a new set, Platinum: Supreme Victors. The set will include over 150 cards, Pokémon SP LV. X, and more than 25 Pokémon SP. Some Frontier Brain Pokémon will also be included. Three tins will be released a month after the set's launch.

Two new titles for July were revealed by Newtype magazine. 「の！モジャンボ！！」 King of the Forest! Mojumbo!! and 「全員参戦！ポケモンハッスル！！」 Everybody Participate! Pokemon Hustle!! will be the 134th and 135th episodes of the Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl series, which will air July 2 and 9, respectively.
