Platinum sells 1.47 million in three weeks: Loses No. 1 spot last weekend to PS2 game

Pokémon Platinum has sold 1.47 million copies since its Sept. 13 release in Japan, according to Media Create game rankings for Sept 22-28. The game slipped to number two in Japanese sales after the Sept. 25 release of Super Robot Wars Z.

Secret Key available to Platinum players: Japanese players can use Wi-Fi to obtain item

Nintendo has officially released the Secret Key, the item needed to enter the room where Rotom can transform. From Sept. 28 to Nov. 4, players of Pokémon Platinum can obtain the Secret Key in select stores in Japan or through Mystery Gift's Wi-Fi feature. This event marks the first time Nintendo has utilized this feature.

New opening/ending single to be released Nov. 26: CD will include four versions of 'High Five!'

Media Factory has announced the CD containing High Five! and Surely Tomorrow, the new opening and ending themes to Pokémon Diamond & Pearl which will debut Oct. 2, will be released in Japan Nov. 26. The maxi CD will contain four versions of High Five!, with solo versions sung by Satoshi and Hikari added to the usual duet and karaoke tracks.

Pokémon DP reaches 100 episodes: Titles for episodes 99, 100 revealed

The Pokémon Diamond & Pearl anime will officially reach its 100th episode Oct. 30, according to two upcoming titles revealed this week. DP099, Ryou of the Elite Four! The Forest of Meeting and Separation! (四天王リョウ！出会いと別れの森！), will air Oct. 23, and the 100th episode, Naetle, Hayashigame... and Then Dodaitose! (ナエトル、ハヤシガメ…そしてドダイトス！), will air Oct. 30 on TV Tokyo.

Anime to get new theme songs: 'High Five!', 'Surely Tomorrow' to debut Oct. 2

TV Tokyo's Pokémon Diamond & Pearl Web site has confirmed that the anime series will debut new opening and ending themes Oct. 2. The opening, High Five! (lit. high touch), will be sung by Rica Matsumoto and Megumi Toyoguchi, the voice actors for Satoshi and Hikari, respectively. Kanako will sing the ending, Surely Tomorrow (lit. ashita wa kitto).
