In an expected move, Game Freak has announced a new generation of Pokémon today during Pokémon Sunday. The first Generation V Pokémon has been revealed. Many details are unknown at this point, but it is known that the new Pokémon will be starring in the next Pokémon movie, Ruler of Illusions Z.

The official Japanese Pokémon site has just confirmed the new Pokémon Ranger game seen in recent CoroCoro scans. The game Pokémon Ranger: Tracks of Light will be released on March 6 for ¥4800. The first Ranger Net mission for this game, which will allow players to transfer a Deoxys to their Generation IV games, will be available from March 6 to May 17.

Nintendo of Europe has announced the release date of Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver in PAL territories. Pokémon.com has gotten a complete makeover, making the site fully integrated with the TCG. Select anime episodes can be viewed on the site, too. The Japanese Pokémon Daisuki Club has now been brought stateside as the Pokémon Trainer Club.
