After a month of rumours and speculation across the internet, Nintendo have confirmed that the highly anticipated successor to their best-selling Nintendo Wii console will be unveiled at this year's E3 Convention, which will be held between June 7-9 in Los Angeles. A playable model of the new system will also be at the event.

Although the press release confirms a 2012 release, due to the sales of this new system not being included in the recently published financial forecasts of this fiscal year, it is safe to presume that this console will not be released before April 2012; although this has yet to be confirmed.
