Over 80 Generation II Pokémon will newly be available in Pokémon GO later this week. In addition to these Pokémon, several new features will also be available.

Pokémon with gender-specific variations will start to appear in Pokémon GO.

Some Pokémon will require Evolution items to evolve, which can be found at PokéStops.

New Encounter Gameplay: When you encounter Pokémon in the wild, don’t be surprised if they react in new ways as you’re trying to catch them. You’ll also notice the addition of new item carousels that allow you to select Berries and Poké Balls directly from the encounter screen. Hone your skills and catch those elusive Pokémon!

There are two new Berries}, which will be available by spinning the Photo Disc at PokéStops: Nanab Berries and Pinap Berries. A Pokémon that eats a Nanab Berry will slow down, making it easier to catch. If a Pokémon eats a Pinap Berry, it will give double the amount of Candy if the next capture attempt succeeds.

Player avatars will also gain access to new hats, shirts, pants, and other items.
