Pikachu Outbreak! at Yokohama Minatomirai event logo

1000 Pikachu will appear in Yokohama Minatomirai from August 9 to 17 during an event titled Pikachu Outbreak! at Yokohama Minatomira. For the duration of this event, places representing Yokohama Minatomirai, such as Pacifico Yokohama, MARK IS Minatomira, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, Yokohama Cosmo World, and Yokohama Landmark Tower, will be covered with Pikachu. For example, there will boats and Ferris wheels wrapped with Pikachu, Pikachu-themed seaside cottages, and at night, Yokohama Marine Tower will light up in a Pikachu color. A total of 1000 Pikachu are to appear during the event.

Locations

Within this event there will be seven separate events at the different locations of Yokohama Minatomirai.

Yokohama Landmark Tower

  • Event name: Pikachu's Exciting Summer Vacation! in LANDMARK
  • Details: Video shows with participation, Pikachu balloons, on-stage "Pikachu Smile School" event and more


  • Event name: Pikachu Centre Summer Festival in Landmark Hall
  • Details: Pokémon*Kids Carnival, Pokémon Bingo, Pokemon Tretta and a Pokémon Center for event-exclusive goods and more

Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse

  • Event name: Pikachu on Vacation! in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse
  • Details: Pikachu Seaside Cottages with Pikachu-themed food and soft drinks, Pokémon Center Stall (Selling/Pokémon*Kids Carnival), and more

MARK IS Minatomirai

  • Event name: Making with Pikachu in MARK IS Minatomirai
  • Details: POKEMON with YOU Workshop, a Pikachu-covered courtyard, and more

Yokohama Cosmo World

  • Event Name: Playing with Pikachu! in Yokohama Cosmo World
  • Details: Attractions with Pikachu on them such as a large ferris wheel and an aeroplane attraction, Pikachu balloon fishing, and more

The Restaurant Ship "Royal Wing"

  • Event Name: Pikachu's Ennichi Cruise at Royal Wing
  • Details: Pokémon Bingo, Pokémon*Kids Carnival and more

Nipponmaru Memorial Park

  • Event Name: Pikachu Boards the Nipponmaru in Nipponmaru Memorial Park
  • Details: Pikachu flags, soft Pikachu and see the Nipponmaru Memorial Park covered with Pikachu

Pacifico Yokohama Hall D

  • Event name: It's a Pikachu Festival! Seiya! Seiya! in Pacifico Yokohama
  • Event time: 9:00 to 17:00 (Last entry at 16:30) on the 16th and 17th August and entrance is free.
  • Details: Pikachu Ondo where you can dance together with Pikachu, Ennichi Street where you can enjoy various games, Pokemon Center Stall and more

Distributions and giveaways

At this event there will be several event-exclusive presents distributed in several different locations shown below.

  • Pikachu Sunvisor: These will be distributed for visitors to join in with the Pikachu swarm.
  • Pikachu TCG card: There will an exclusive Pikachu card with many different designs. The cards will be randomly distributed so visitors cannot choose designs. (The card translation can be found here.)
  • Pikachu Rookie Pokémon Tretta (Minatomirai version): A special Blue Tretta with a Pikachu based on the Yokohama Minatomirai distributions.

The locations of the distributions above will be Sakuragichou Station, Minatomirai Station, Yokohama Landmark Tower, MARK IS Minatomirai, Yokohama Cosmo World and Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse.

There will also be a Pikachu with the original Trainer "Minatomirai" distributed for Pokémon X and Y at various different locations such as Yokohama Landmark Tower, Yokohama Cosmo World, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, Restaurant Ship "Royal Wing" Dock, Nipponmaru Memorial Park, and Pacifico Yokohama. This Pikachu will know a special (currently unknown) move and have a different nickname depending on the location it was received at. Each Pokémon X or Y game will only be able to receive one Pikachu from each location from this event. The Pacifico Yokohama distribution will only run on August 16 and 17.
