European Pokémon GO Plus box

The Pokémon GO Plus, a Bluetooth peripheral for Pokémon GO, is now available for pre-order in North America and Europe.

In a Pokémon GO Q&A at E3 2016, Shigeru Miyamoto surprised the panel by announcing that the Pokémon GO Plus will be released in late July 2016. This release period has since been added to the official Pokémon website and several retailers.

The Pokémon GO Plus will retail for $34.99 in the United States, $44.99 in Canada, £34.99 in the United Kingdom, €39.99 in the eurozone, and ¥3,500 in Japan.

When a Pokémon is nearby, the Pokémon GO Plus will start flashing green and vibrate. Pressing the button on the device will throw a Poké Ball. If the capture is successful, the light will flash rainbow colors; if it flashes red, the capture failed. It is also possible to collect items using the Pokémon GO Plus.
