Pokémon GO is now available in South Korea for iOS and Android. As a result, a new patch is available that brings the game to version 0.53.2 (labelled 1.23.2 on the iOS App Store); the patch simply adds Korean language support.

The reason for the delay was due to legal restrictions of mapping South Korea. However, Niantic has managed to workaround these issues, allowing the game to now be released in South Korea.

Despite not being previously available in the country, some players discovered that particular locations near the borders allowed the game to be played, such as Sokcho and Busan, due to the game not identifying these locations as being in South Korea.
