Popular Pokémon website Serebii.net was thrown into chaos earlier this week, as an unknown individual gained access to the Yahoo email account of its webmaster, Joe "Serebii" Merrick, and proceeded to hijack the domain, and the forums.

Amongst other things, the Serebii.net domain has been redirected to numerous locations, including rival Pokémon websites, blogs of prominent figures in the online Pokémon fandom, and hardcore pornography. At the time of writing, the domain currently links to an adult video hosted on YouTube.

While it appears that the crisis is largely over, with Joe having regained control of most of his site, the issue of the domain name will likely not be solved for some time. Users can however access Serebii.net still through the direct IP link, which we have provided above.

This whole series of events will likely not quiet down for quite some time, so expect Bulbanews to be releasing updates to this story over the next few days, and things continue to unfold.
