Update:  The themes are now also available in North America

Two brand new Pokémon-based Nintendo 3DS themes have been released in Japan, featuring Team Skull and Shiny Tapu Koko.

The theme "A Sinister Organization—Team Skull" features Team Skull, depicting Guzma, Plumeria, Gladion, Team Rocket Grunts, and Pokémon used by Team Skull. The background music is "Battle! (Team Skull Boss)" from Pokémon Sun and Moon.

The theme "Pokémon: Shiny Tapu Koko" features a Shiny Tapu Koko on the upper screen, while the lower screen scrolls through artwork of both Midday and Midnight Form Lycanroc, Golisopod, and Kommo-o. The background music is "Battle! (Tapu)" from Pokémon Sun and Moon. This coincides with the Japanese release of a Shiny Tapu Koko TCG card, Shiny Tapu Koko merchandise, and a Shiny Tapu Koko distribution in Japan.

The themes cost ¥200 each. No details about a release outside of Japan have been announced.
