Come on... rock our world...

The Bulbawiki Network today launched a staff recruitment drive that will take place over the next three weeks. Bulbapedia, Bulbanews, and the Bulbagarden Archives are all looking for new staff members to keep the wikis clean and to provide fresh input into site daily management.

Bulbapedia is hiring staff at the junior administrator level. Bulbanews is looking for new writers and columnists. Bulbagarden Archives is looking for hardworking editors to continue the ongoing Archives cleanup.

Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a form on the Bulbagarden forums. The form links and job descriptions for each position are posted below. Please read each description carefully before applying. If you do not have a Bulbagarden forums account, you are encouraged to create one or alternatively contact a staff member to seek further information.

The application process closes on 25 November. Best of luck!

Bulbapedia is expanding. We now have over 20,000 articles but need staff support to ensure these are kept at the highest quality for the hundreds of people who browse and edit the wiki every day. We are looking for a handful of new Junior Administrators to help manage the day-to-day running of the site.

Junior Administrators have the ability to quickly 'rollback' vandal edits, edit protected pages, and see deleted page histories. If you use these tools wisely and show a willingness to learn and help others, there may be promotion opportunity.

Applicants must have a minimum of 500 mainspace contributions, as well as approximately 200 non-welcome talk- and usertalkspace edits. In addition to a continual high edit quality, applicants must have contributed to the overarching Bulbapedia community through leadership and development. They need good understanding of Bulbapedia style and policy, and must have been a member for the past six months (i.e. prior to May 25, 2011) with a reasonable level of activity. It is expected that Junior Administrators will be active in cleanup and expansion of Bulbapedia, as well as helping out other users.

Interested applicants should complete this form. Please outline why you want to work on Bulbapedia, including examples of your editing and community work.

Writer/Reporter

Reporters are the heart and soul of Bulbanews staff. It is their job to follow the latest developments in their own area of the Pokémon fandom (Anime, Games, TCG, etc), and write these up as news articles for Bulbanews.

Ideally to be considered for the position, you should have already submitted at least one story to Bulbanews as a regular user that was accepted and published; however, applicants who have not yet had submitted articles published may be considered on a case by case basis, depending on previous experience reporting news for other groups.

Interested applicants should complete this form. Please outline why you want to work on Bulbanews, any journalism experience you may have, and why you would be a great reporter.

Columnist

Do you have interesting ideas or opinions about a niche topic in the Pokémon franchise you'd like to share with the world? If you answered yes, then you might be Bulbanews's next big columnist.

With popular columns such as On the Origin of Species and Crunching the Numbers on a break, we are looking for talented writers to share their interests with the Pokémon fandom at large. You would get to pick your own topic (on consultation with the Board of Editors) and update schedule, but you are expected to keep to Bulbanews's editorial standards in regards to writing style and reliability.

In addition to your columnist role, you have the opportunity to report and write news on Bulbanews.

Ideally to be considered for the position, you would already be an established knowledgeable user in your area. It would be an asset if you have already made a number of posts to online forums or blogs relating to the topic.

Interested applicants should complete this form. Please outline your topic and update schedule, and why Bulbanews readers would be interested in your column. If the Editors are interested in your topic, you will be contacted and asked to write a sample piece.

Bulbagarden Archives bulb.png Archives

The Archives is looking for people to step into administrative positions. Administrators on the Archives are tasked with establishing procedures and categorizing images, among other tasks. Candidates must have excellent organizational skills and experience with MediaWiki software. They must also be able to work both cooperatively and independently to achieve tasks as set by the Bulbapedia Editor-in-Chief and higher staff members from the Archives.

The staff level you are hired at will depend on your level of wiki experience.

Interested applicants should complete this form. Please outline why you want to work on the Archives, including examples of your editing work on at least one Bulbawiki site. Experience from other wikis may be taken into account.
