|| This article brought to you by Bulbanews, your community Pokémon newspaper.
Update: While the official site previously reported Deoxys would be available for Black, White, Black 2 and White 2, the site has since been updated and now only lists it as being available in Black 2 and White 2
Deoxys will be available via Wi-Fi distribution from May 8 to 31. This Deoxys will be level 100 and have four moves. It will be obtainable in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2.
It is likely to be the same as the Deoxys currently being distributed in Japan and the Deoxys that will soon be distributed in South Korea, which has the moves Nasty Plot, Dark Pulse, Recover and Psycho Boost and is holding a Life Orb.
This Deoxys is also being distributed to cross-promote the release of the Deoxys-EX in the upcoming Plasma Freeze expansion of the TCG.

BELLEVUE, WA—April 25, 2013—The Pokémon Company International has announced that the fan-favorite Mythical Pokémon Deoxys will make a rare appearance next month for players of Pokémon video games and also the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). Beginning May 8, players of the Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2 video games can add Deoxys to their Pokémon party through a special character distribution via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. Fans of the Pokémon TCG can also celebrate the return of this imposing Psychic-type Pokémon with its appearance as a powerful Deoxys-EX card in the new Pokémon TCG: Black & White—Plasma Freeze expansion, coming to retail stores nationwide the same day.
Deoxys—an impressive Pokémon that can change its Forme—has long captivated fans with its mind-blowing Psychic-type powers and mysterious interstellar origins. Little is known of its past, but Pokémon professors have determined that Deoxys was originally a virus of alien origin: as it plummeted through the atmosphere on a wayward meteorite, the virus passed through a laser beam and mutated to become Deoxys.
Now, with its first appearance in Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2, Deoxys offers players the tactical flexibility brought by the ability to change Formes. If Trainers need to make a switch, they can bring Deoxys to Nacrene City to have it shift between Normal Forme, Attack Forme, Defense Forme, and Speed Forme. All of Deoxys’s Formes have distinct appearances and different advantages, so Trainers can be ready for anything. The Deoxys available via this distribution will have special moves to be revealed in the coming weeks.
Pokémon TCG players can also look forward to the enigmatic, Psychic-type Deoxys taking a starring role in the upcoming Pokémon TCG: Black & White—Plasma Freeze expansion. Deoxys-EX, a force to be reckoned with that boasts 170 HP, can power up allied Team Plasma Pokémon with its Ability and turn opponents’ Energy against them with the formidable move Helix Force. Coming to stores May 8 in conjunction with the Deoxys video game distribution, the Pokémon TCG: Black & White—Plasma Freeze expansion introduces more than 110 new cards including stunning Pokémon-EX cards such as Deoxys-EX, Thundurus-EX, Latios-EX, and Latias-EX in addition to a pair of ACE SPEC Trainer cards so powerful that players may have only one per deck.
To participate in the Deoxys character distribution event beginning May 8 via the Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection service, players will need:
- Wireless broadband Internet access
- A Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi, Nintendo DSi XL, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL system
- A copy of the Pokémon Black 2 or Pokémon White 2 game
- No more than 11 Wonder Cards in their possession
