A new series of omnibus volumes featuring the Ruby & Sapphire chapter of Pokémon Adventures is due to be released in Japan, just in time for the release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

The volumes will be released under Shogakukan's "My First Series" (マイファーストシリーズ) brand, which are bargain-priced volumes sold only in Japanese convenience stores. A total of four volumes will be released, beginning with volume one on October 24. All four volumes are expected to be released by the end of December.

Previously, an omnibus release of the Ruby & Sapphire chapter was planned in 2011, under Shogakukan's similar "My First Wide" brand of omnibus volumes. While the first volume was released, it was quietly discontinued and the second and third volumes were cancelled, due to the depictions of earthquakes and tsunami in the Ruby & Sapphire chapter, which were considered inappropriate following the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Satoshi Yamamoto has confirmed on his his Twitter account that the new forthcoming volumes have no connection to the 2011 releases, which have been permanently discontinued.
