To promote the debut of Pokémon the Series: XYZ, which was recently added to the Pokémon TV mobile app, Shiny Xerneas, Shiny Yveltal, and Zygarde are being distributed via Nintendo Network for American region games. Each Pokémon will be available via Nintendo Network for one week only for Pokémon X and Y and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Zygarde is available from May 2 to 8, 2016. It is level 100 and knows the moves Land's Wrath, Extreme Speed, Glare and Outrage.

Shiny Xerneas will be available from May 11 to 17, 2016. It is level 100 and knows the moves Geomancy, Moonblast, Aromatherapy and Focus Blast.

Shiny Yveltal will be available from May 20 to 26, 2016. It is level 100 and knows the moves Oblivion Wing, Sucker Punch, Dark Pulse and Foul Play.


The Zygarde distribution has actually been available since April 30, despite being intended to start on May 2, 2016.

Only the Zygarde distribution has been announced for the PAL region, but it lasts the entire duration of all three American region distributions. For details on the PAL region distribution, see "Details on PAL region Zygarde distribution revealed".

MEDIA ALERT: CELEBRATE 20 YEARS OF POKÉMON WITH DARKRAI CHARACTER DISTRIBUTION, POKÉMON THE SERIES: XYZ AND POKÉMON TCG: XY-FATES COLLIDE

The yearlong celebration of 20 years of Pokémon continues with the appearance of Mythical Pokémon Darkrai, the launch of Pokémon TCG: XY—Fates Collide and more!

First appearing in Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, the Mythical Darkrai has cast a long shadow over the Pokémon world. The powerful Pitch-Black Pokémon returns for the Pokémon 20th celebration this time via a special distribution event at participating GameStop stores. Pokémon fans can head to participating GameStop locations (or EB Games in Canada and Australia) and receive a free code card while supplies last to receive a Lv. 100 Darkrai for their Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Pokémon Omega Ruby, or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire video game. At PokemonCenter.com, GameStop, and other participating retailers, fans can also find the Pokémon TCG: Mythical Pokémon Collection—Darkrai, which includes two special Pokémon TCG: Generations booster packs and a collectible Darkrai pin.

Darkrai can be seen battling the Legendary Pokémon Palkia in the digitally remastered Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai, available for download on iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon. The movie will also be available on Pokémon TV for two weeks during the month of May. Pokémon TV is available on Pokémon.com and the Pokémon TV app is available on the App Store, Google Play, Roku, Chromecast, and Amazon Fire platforms.

In celebration of the debut of Pokémon the Series: XYZ, three powerful Legendary Pokémon from the Kalos region—Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde—can be downloaded via Nintendo Network for Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Pokémon Omega Ruby, or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire video games during the month of May. These Pokémon are all Lv. 100, and know their signature attacks as well as other powerful moves. Each Pokémon will be available via Nintendo Network for one week only:

  • May 2–8: Zygarde
  • May 11–17: Shiny Xerneas
  • May 20–26: Shiny Yveltal

Pokémon TCG: XY—Fates Collide is the latest expansion to the Pokémon Trading Card Game franchise, featuring the powerful BREAK Evolution mechanic. Mega Alakazam-EX sees the future—and shapes it to unify two worlds. The Legendary Pokémon Zygarde arrives in many different Formes to bring order, together with Lugia BREAK, Mega Altaria-EX, and Umbreon-EX. Fates are sealed, and two Pokémon worlds join together in XY—Fates Collide! Booster packs and two theme decks—Sky Guardian and Battle Ruler—are available in stores now, introducing more than 120 new cards to collect and play.
