TheSpeedGamers, a group of video game enthusiasts who play for marathon hours to raise money for charities, will begin their next Pokémon marathon on Friday June 8th 2018 at 5pm US Central Standard Time. This year, TheSpeedGamers will be live on Twitch attempting to catch all Pokémon currently available excluding the 18 Mythical Pokémon by playing through Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, HeartGold and SoulSilver, Black and White, X and Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Sun and Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon to help raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This marathon is scheduled to last 168 hours until Friday 15th June.

This marathon will continue the year-long celebration of TheSpeedGamers’ ten-year anniversary. This will mark TheSpeedGamers 45th marathon since their formation in 2008. Over the past ten years, TheSpeedGamers have raised more than $780,000 for various charities and causes, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, ACT Today!, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and many others. These charities help support those in need and fund research leading to cures for various diseases and other key areas of concern.

Donations during this marathon go towards St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital which seeks to treat and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. St. Jude aims to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of St. Jude founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or a family’s ability to pay. TheSpeedGamers encourage donations towards St. Jude through gameplay, commentary, contests, and prize incentives, as well as through other methods that allow direct interaction with the audience. Throughout the marathon, viewers can chat directly with the team by the Twitch Chat or through social media networks, such as Twitter or Discord.

The Pokémon marathon will be streamed live on TheSpeedGamers Twitch Channel http://twitch.tv/thespeedgamers. All of the donations will go directly to St. Jude and can be made during the marathon through PayPal or with a Visa or MasterCard via Tiltify using http://tsg.tv/donate.
