The company have explained that the reasoning behind starting the repeats was that the production of {{bp|Season 14|Pokémon: Black & White}} was delayed due to the [[Sendai earthquake, tsunami impact Pokémon officials|Sendai earthquake and tsunami]] in March and that the best time to repeat the series would be in the recently started summer holidays, as most children are expected to be away during that period. New episodes however, are currently scheduled to begin in September, and continue through the autumn.

New episodes of the Pokémon: Black & White anime series had been airing in the United Kingdom on CITV since June. Today, though, they began to re-air the series starting with the first episode, In the Shadow of Zekrom!. Bulbagarden moderator Joshawott was one of several fans to email CITV's parent company ITV and inquire about the decision to start repeats so prematurely.

He received the following response:

Unfortunately, due to events in Japan earlier this year, the production of Season 14 of Pokemon [sic] was delayed. Consequently, we've chosen to repeat the first 14 episodes over the summer holidays when people might be away.

We will, however, return to new episodes from September and continue the series through to Autumn.
