At the recent Nintendo press conference in Japan, numerous new titles were revealed, including a new Pokémon side game. "Battle & Get! Pokémon Typing DS!" will be released in Japan in 2011. The goal of the game is to teach Japanese children how to type, seemingly using the English keyboard.

The side game does not seem to use the trademark romanizations of Pokémon, as "Zoroa" is seen in a screenshot instead of Zorua. Genius Sonority will be developing the title, as they have also done with Pokémon Colosseum, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Pokémon Trozei!, and Pokémon Battle Revolution.
