Play! Pokémon has announced that the 2015 Standard format of the Pokémon Trading Card Game will be Boundaries Crossed-on. Only Black Star Promo Cards BW55 and higher or XY01 and higher will be permitted.

In addition, a new format, the Expanded format, will be introduced at the same time. This format will be Black & White-on and allow all BW Black Star Promos and XY Black Star Promos.

While the 2015 season officially started on July 14, 2014, this rotation will not occur until September 3, 2014. As such, the 2014 World Championships will still use the 2014 Standard format.
