This year's North American International Championship and {{bp|World Championship}} tournaments are to be held in {{wp|Columbus, Ohio|Columbus}}, {{wp|Ohio}}, and {{wp|Nashville,Tennessee|Nashville}}, {{wp|Tennessee}}. Competitions will be held from the 6th to the 8th July at the {{wp|Greater Columbus Convention Center}}. While the World Championships will be held in Nashville from Aug. 24th-26th.

The Columbus, Ohio Tournament has no residency restrictions and will allow {{bp|TCG}} and {{bp|VGC|video game}} players their final chances to win points to move onto the World Championship. 
The North American International Championships have no residency restrictions and will allow both {{bp|Trading Card Game|TCG}} and {{bp|Core series|VGC}} players their final chances to earn enough Championship Points to qualify for an invitation to the World Championships, whose winners will receive a share of the US$500,000 prize pool.
 
The best players from around the world with then gather in the {{wp|Music City Center}}, in Nashville to compete in the 2018 World Championships from Aug. 24th to 26th. To qualify, TCG and Video Game players must battle at Championship Tournaments throughout the season and earn enough Championship Points to earn an invitation. Winners will receive a share of the US$500,000 prize pool.

The Pokémon Company International has announced that this year's North American International Championships and World Championships tournaments will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, and the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
