Following the Nintendo 3DS's public showing in Japan at the Nintendo World Fair, Nintendo have announced that on 19th January 2011 there will be a Press Preview event for the 3DS in New York, as well as Amsterdam, which the President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed, will be detailing the release of the upcoming Nintendo 3DS handheld console, the successor to the highly successful Nintendo DS series of consoles. Meanwhile, numerous French retailers (including Amazon's French arm, which was quickly removed) have listed a Recommended Retail price of €250 (Roughly £207.65)

The Spanish-arm of GameStop, who are known in the Pokémon community for the American arm's Pokémon events, recently placed the console up for pre-order, with a price of €249 and a release date of 7th April, which was quickly removed. While retailers tend to post their estimates of release dates, the removal does bring it into question. However, Nintendo of America have assured that the March U.S. release month still stands - Hopefully, answers will be available on 19th January.
