The newly established "Newtype x Machi ★ Asobi! The Moving Pictures Festival" has announced the winners of its first Anime Awards last night; the results of which were voted for by fans.
Aoi Yūki, the seiyū (voice actor) of Iris in the Pocket Monsters Best Wishes!, received honors as the Best Actress. This, however, was due to her voicing Madoka in Puella Magi Madoka Magica, a series that dominated the awards (winning all but four categories).
Mamoru Miyano, seiyū Dent (Cilan), also won the award for Best Actor. This was attributed to him voicing Rintarō Okabe in Steins;Gate. Rintarō Okabe won the award for Best Male Character.
