The newly established "Newtype x Machi ★ Asobi! The Moving Pictures Festival" has announced the winners of its first Anime Awards last night; the results of which were voted for by fans.

Aoi Yuki, the seiyu who voices Iris in Pokémon Best Wishes received honours as the Best Actress; although this was most likely due to her voicing Madoka in Puella Magi Madoka Magica, a series that dominated the awards (winning all but four categories). Mamoru Miyano, who provides the voice of Cilan in Pokémon Best Wishes also won the award for Best Actor, which could be attributed to him voicing Rintaro Okabe in Steins;Gate (Rintaro Okabe won the award for Best Male Character). Still, it's quite a sight to see the best actor and best actress sharing a stage in the same show!

The other awards are as follows:

Best Mascot: Kyubey (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)

Best Female Character: Homura Akemi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)
