Several pages of the July issue of CoroCoro were recently leaked on Twitter. Pages from the leak revealed that Sceptile and Swampert would both be receiving Mega Evolutions. Mega {{p|Sceptile}} is a Grass/Dragon type with the Ability {{a|Lightningrod}}. Mega {{p|Swampert}} has the Ability {{a|Swift Swim}} and a bulky appearance. Mega {{p|Blaziken}} was also showcased, but had no apparent changes from {{bp|Pokémon X and Y}}. Mega Sceptile's height and weight are 1.9m / 55.2kg and, it is able to use {{m|Leaf Storm}}. Additionally, new artwork of {{p|Treecko}}, {{p|Torchic}} and {{p|Mudkip}} were included along with the Mega Evolutions.

New information regarding {{p|Groudon}} and {{p|Kyogre}}'s new forms were released. The two legendary Pokémon enter a new state known as "Primordial Revival"<!--ゲンシカイキ-->, with the new forms being known as "Primordial Groudon" and "Primordial Kyogre". They are said to have 'reclaimed their original power in the modern day'.
