The official Pokémon website announced details for ''The Thieves and the 1000 Pokémon''.

The object of the game is to steal back the jewels stolen by thieves. To do so, players have to defeat the thieves' Pokémon that block their way. The thieves are based on the thieves in ''{{bp|M17|Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction}}'': {{bp|Ninja Riot}} and his {{p|Greninja}}, and {{bp|Marilyn Flame}} and her {{p|Delphox}}.

The game has multiple stages, each with multiple battles in them. Players can choose to start out with one of the {{bp|Kalos}} starter Pokémon, with each having a different effect on gameplay. 

Due to the amount of battles in each stage, it is advised only enough be used in each battle to continue onto the next battle. It is possible to sneak by battles quietly to preserve the amount of Pokémon left for battle; however, if caught, a battle will ensue.

The game can connect with StreetPass to gain other Pokémon. The Pokémon acquired is determined based on the Pokémon the person who is StreetPassed starts with. At the end of each battle, a certain amount of Pokémon will go home, so it is best that players continue to StreetPass until the game is complete. However, if there is not enough time, players can opt to use Play Coins instead. Unlike StreetPass, the Pokémon recruited through this method are limited to the Pokémon the player started with in the game.

Upon completion of the game, connection is possible with {{bp|Pokémon X and Y}}; however, no further details were given.

This game is available via ePass in Japanese games from June 5 to September 30.
