The new Detective Pikachu movie's release date has been announced by Deadline. The film is set to debut in cinemas on May 10, 2019.

The release date information came after the recent announcements that Ryan Reynolds will star in the movie as Pikachu. Furthermore, Justice Smith and Kathryn Newton are also in the cast.

PEGI had already confirmed that Detective Pikachu will be a 'PEGI 3'. The reasoning behind this was because it contains occasional, mild violence in a pixelated context but is suitable for all persons.
