The PokéWalker, featuring Pikachu's Diamond and Pearl sprite

The episode of Pokémon Sunday today revealed a new device that could connect to Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. This pedometer known as the 「ポケウォーカー」PokéWalker will be given to those who purchase HeartGold or SoulSilver.

The PokéWalker has both the shape and colors of a regular Monster Ball. It has at least three buttons and a black and white interface. It will allow players of HeartGold and SoulSilver to deposit one Pokémon there. The Pokémon gains experience points and happiness as players walk, somewhat similar to the toys based on the Digivice of the Digimon series. Mini games are also included. This pedometer is the remake of Pokémon Pikachu 2, a toy that can be used to obtain Mystery Gifts in Gold, Silver and Crystal. Similar to that toy, the PokéWalker will use the currency Watt (W) for purchasing items, some of which can be sent to HeartGold or SoulSilver. It is currently unknown if this will be available outside of Japan.
