Template:Img The official Japanese Pokémon website has recently updated with new information about Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. The site includes new Pokémon and character artwork, game screenshots and more.

The release date of the game in Japan is on Fall 2009. The site include details about the Generation II starter Pokémon, Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile, and new artwork for them. New artwork can also be seen for the Version mascots, Lugia and Ho-Oh, and for the player characters, Gold and Soul, the new girl player character.

The site also provided screenshots seen on the images from CoroCoro. It features a screenshot of how choosing the starter Pokémon will be like. It also shows that the PokéGear will be redesigned with a new layout and pops up when X or Start is pressed. This new navigation system will be accessed on the touch screen. Two images show that the player's starter will follow them, much like Pikachu did in Yellow. The final screenshot shows that an image will appear once again when entering a new area, similar to FireRed and LeafGreen.

Another one of the site's updates confirms that the Pikachu-colored Pichu will unlock an event involving the Notched-ear Pichu. It will occur near the Ilex Forest Shrine.

A third update confirms that the special Arceus to be given away starting June will have an effect in Platinum.
