The website IGN has started trying to determine the top 100 Pokemon of all-time. That's right, out of 649, they are going to whittle it down to 100. How, you might ask? By having fanboys and girls alike vote in "Pokemon Face-Off" which isn't a tournament, rather, it puts two random Pokemon against each other. For example, several matchups I've seen already are Blastoise vs. Lugia, Charizard vs. Scyther, and Zapdos vs. Boldore.
Gaming news website IGN has opened Pokémon Face-Off, a feature intended to deduce a set of top 100 of the "best Pokémon" as decided by voters. The feature, promoted as a series of "Poké-Duels", randomly generates pairs of Pokémon on which fans must select the one they consider the best.  All 649 Pokémon are eligible to be voted on.

Participants can vote on as many "Poké-Duels" as they desire.  The results of this voting will be used to create a list of the 100 best Pokémon.

The Face-Off will close on April 20, with a feature announcing the results and the 100 "best" Pokémon to be published on April 25.
