Niantic have announced that traded Pokémon in Pokémon GO can be Lucky Pokémon and can receive a new trait. Players that receive a Lucky Pokémon need less Stardust to trade and the Pokémon will have higher CP.

The longer the Pokémon spends inside a player's storage, the higher the chance of them becoming Lucky Pokémon when they are traded.

In addition, Gifts have been changed. Players who send Gifts to friends will now receive XP for doing so and Gifts also have a chance of containing Stardust.
