Marshadow will be distributed via local wireless for Pokémon Sun and Moon at screenings of Pokémon the Movie 20: I Choose You! at theaters in Japan. This Marshadow is bundled with a Marshadium Z, so players will receive the Z-Crystal upon collecting the Marshadow.

This Marshadow will be level 50 and know the moves Spectral Thief, Close Combat, Force Palm and Shadow Ball. Its Original Trainer is テンセイざん (Mount Tensei). It has a Wishing Ribbon and is in a Cherish Ball.

Spectral Thief is Marshadow's signature move and had not previously been officially revealed, although fans had discovered in the games' data. If Marshadow holds a Marshadium Z, it can upgrade Spectral Thief into its exclusive Z-Move, Soul-Stealing 7-Star Strike. Soul-Stealing 7-Star Strike had not previously been officially revealed, although it also had been discovered by fans previously.
