It has been announced that Charizard can Mega Evolve into one of two forms. Mega Charizard Y is a Fire/Flying-type Pokémon with the Ability Drought. It can Mega Evolve using the Mega Stone Charizardite Y. Its Special Attack stat grows after Mega Evolving. It has a height of 5'07" and a weight of 221.6 lbs.

Mega Charizard X is a Fire/Dragon-type Pokémon with the new Ability Tough Claws. Tough Claws raises the power of moves that make direct contact. It can Mega Evolve using the Mega Stone Charizardite X. Its Attack stat grows after Mega Evolving. It has a height of 5'07" and a weight of 243.6 lbs. It is the Flame Pokémon and can use the attack Dragon Tail.

A new trailer has been released featuring Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y, with them using attacks.
