Poster for Phantom Ruler Z

Returning to Johto's legends as the games have, the thirteenth Pokémon movie has been revealed. Titled 幻影の覇者Z Phantom Ruler Z, a title likely to change as July of 2010 draws nearer, the movie will focus on the legendary Time Travel Pokémon, Celebi.

What is known so far is that the legendary beasts, Entei, Suicune, and Raikou, will all appear together for the first time in the anime, after taking on separate central roles in Lord of the Unknown Tower, Celebi: Encounter Beyond Time, and The Legend of Thunder. Celebi, though it appeared previously in a starring role in Celebi: Encounter Beyond Time, is hinted to have a central role.

In the trailer, Ash is shown to come face-to-face with a darker version of himself, though it is unknown if this version will be similar to the personality that Ash took on on being possessed by the King of Pokélantis in AG178.

The movie will premiere on July 10, 2010 in Japanese theaters.
