A recent episode of NHK series Professional: Shigoto no Ryuugi focusing on Tsunekazu Ishihara, CEO of the The Pokémon Company, showed a number of Pokémon games currently in development.

A sequel to Pokémon Trozei (known as Pokémon Link in some regions) is being worked on by Genius Sonority, and is planned to be a 3DS eShop title. The original Pokémon Trozei, a puzzle game in which the player must match Pokémon and create combos, was released for the Nintendo DS in 2005. No title or release date for the sequel is currently known.

A detective game featuring a talking Pikachu was shown to be in the early stages of development. The player must solve cases with the Pikachu as their senior: this Pikachu is said to have a more adult-like personality than typical portrayals, and has a wide range of facial expressions achieved via motion capture. The game is also said to feature a "blue Pikachu", though no images of it have been released.

Finally, an updated version of the Battle Chess board game, featuring mechanics from Pokémon X and Y, was shown. The new game will incorporate Mega Evolution into its ruleset.
