The Nintendo DSi LL in WineRed

Update:  The official site of Nintendo has confirmed this new DSi. The screen of the Nintendo DSi LL is 4.2 inches, and it will come with a larger stylus. It will be sold for ¥20,000 starting Nov. 21, and will come in the colors WineRed, DarkBrown and NaturalWhite. This device will be titled the Nintendo DSi XL in North America and Europe, being released sometime in Q1 2010.

Nikkei, one of Japan's largest media corporations, reported this morning that a new, 4-inch screen Nintendo DSi will be released in Japan soon, possibly by the end of the year. This DSi will sell for the same price as the current DSi: ¥18,900.

The new DSi will be 18.75% larger than the current DSi's screen (3.25 inches) and 25% larger than the DS and DS Lite's (3 inches). The new screen will be closer to the size of the PlayStation Portable's 4.3″ screen.

The Nintendo DSi is the third version of the Nintendo DS, after the DS Lite. The Japanese version of the system was released Nov. 1 last year while the Australian, European and North American versions were released last April 2, 3 and 5, respectively.
