This special Pichu was first featured in the twelfth Pokémon movie, Arceus and the Jewel of Life, with an event Pokémon known as the Pikachu-colored Pichu distributed to commemorate the said Pichu. The Spiky-eared Pichu is obtained in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver after bringing the Pikachu-colored Pichu to the shrine in Ilex Forest.
