The Pokémon Company opened a new Pokémon Center in the Tōhoku region on Dec. 4, 2011. It was opened as a part of the Pokémon Company's "Pokémon with You" campaign, which was set up to help victims of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake.

Due to a large crowd entering the store upon its opening, Pokémon posted a notice on their website, stating that customers may have to wait up to five hours before they could enter the store.

The store's opening was a part of the "Pokémon with You" campaign. Pokémon with You has visited high schools and hosted tourism festivals within Tōhoku in an attempt to help the region recover from their earthquake. In addition, the company accepts donations to try to help the recovery. Those interested in donating can do so here.
