The Pichu near the shrine in Ilex Forest

Nintendo of Europe has recently announced that players of the PAL versions of Pokémon Diamond & Pearl Versions, along with Pokémon Platinum versions will be able to download a Pikachu-Coloured Pichu (or Shiny Pichu) from Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection from March 5th until March 26th. This Pichu, once traded to the upcoming Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver Versions (Due out on March 26th in Europe) and taken to the Ilex Forest Shrine in the Ilex Forest will allow the player to receive the special, Spiky-eared Pichu, which will be female only and holding a Zap Plate

Previously, this Pichu was available in Japan by pre-ordering a ticket to the 12th Pokémon movie Arceus and the Jewel of Life, while America held a brick-and-mortar event at participating GameStop stores. This makes Pichu the first Pokémon outside of Japan available over Wi-Fi Connection (The first Japanese Direct-Pokémon Wi-Fi distribution being a Jirachi). This event coincides with the currently ongoing European Arceus events, which are taking place this month.

The Pikachu-Coloured Pichu will be at level 30, holding an Everstone and know the moves Charge, Volt Tackle, Endeavor and Endure.
