Today Nintendo announced that the Pokemon Franchise is verging on it's 150millionth game sale worldwide, touting Pokemon XD as it's most recent reason for this spectacular figure.

Nintendo boasts that Pokémon has spawned more than $15 billion in worldwide retail sales and that without fail, every new Pokémon game sells more than 1 million.

At 150m sale, Pokemon becomes Nintendo's second best selling franchise, only beaten by Mario himself and also reaffirms itself as one of the greatest gaming franchises in history.
