North America sees the launch of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 for the Nintendo DS today, with Australian and European releases to follow later this week on October 11 and 12 respectively.

Widely expected to be the series' swansong on the DS, the games revisit the Unova region of Black and White after a gap of several years, featuring faces old and new, plus a significantly expanded local Pokédex. Amongst highly anticipated new features is the Pokémon World Tournament, which offers players the opportunity to battle against Gym Leaders and Champions of previous games in the series.

Tied into Black 2 and White 2 is the Pokémon Dream Radar, which is available from the Nintendo 3DS eShop. This game allows players to capture numerous Pokémon with previously unreleased Hidden Abilities, as well as the new Therian Formes of Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus.

Additionally, Genesect is now available via Wi-Fi as part of an event running until November 12. The Paleozoic Pokémon was revealed officially earlier in the year, and is currently the last entry in the Pokédex.
