Following the previous expansion of Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo on Dec. 19, 2019 to include the Pokémon GO Lab, Pikachu Sweets by Pokémon Cafe and Pokémon Card Game Station, the main store is slated to close on Jan. 14 and Jan. 15, 2020 and then reopen on a limited basis until a grand re-opening in Spring 2020.

The parts of the store to remain open throughout the refurbishment are:

Pokémon GO Lab

The world's first Pokémon GO Lab includes a life-size Professor Willow statue along with exclusive Pokémon GO merchandise. The location is also a Gym in Pokémon GO, and in-game events are planned for the store.

Pikachu Sweets by Pokémon Cafe

A takeaway cafe with a range of Pokémon themed cakes, sweets and coffee as well as a selection of souvenirs.

Pokémon Card Station Mega Tokyo

Pokémon Trading Card Game events are held every day at a purpose-built space and a "Pokémon Card Concierge" is on hand to answer any questions about the game.
