Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl will begin airing in high definition in April, according to TV Tokyo. Also, the fourth ending theme to the DP series, Get Fired up, Notched-ear Pichu 「もえよギザみみピチュー」, will debut in April, according to the song's artist, Shokotan.
The anime has aired in 4:3 resolution since its debut in 1997. The conversion to HD will change the resolution to 16:9. Pokeani notes that Pokémon is relatively late in converting to HD in comparison to other anime series.
Thanks to Aura-Knight for the tip.
