PokéBallerz, a group of University of York students who play video game marathons to raise money for charity, will be playing Pokémon Red, Silver and Emerald versions, Pokémon Stadium, Pokémon Stadium 2 and the Pokémon Trading Card Game video game from June 13 to June 17 to raise money for the charity WaterAid by streaming the marathon online on Twitch TV and receiving the donations through the site for which a hyperlink to is shown above.

Viewers who donate will be able to request for Pokémon to be caught and nicknamed. The six most donated Pokémon at any time will be used by the group in their Pokémon party and this will be updated regularly. Other donation requests are also available and donors will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win paintings of Pokémon.

The PokéBallerz team consists of Jason Choi, Harry Cuddy, Tim Doran, Eve Goodman, Ben Gibson, Fred Wildi, Tara Cooper, Ben Kyriakou, Kay Dyson, Max Strachan and Emma Hulme along with other people and the York University Student Union (YUSU) helping out as well. Under the name of UoYZeldaMarathon, they previously held a Legend of Zelda gaming marathon for the local charity York Against Cancer.
