Starting on June 1, 2012, The Marathon Man will be hosting their 2nd annual Pokémon charity event, playing the first two main series game from every generation in a Nuzlocke Challenge. The challenge will be put on by two teams of five, each with their own donation meter. All funds however, no matter which team it was donated towards, will go towards the nonprofit organization, Hope For The Warriors, which helps to support wounded soldiers, as well as their families, get by. The marathon will begin at 2 PM, Friday June 1st, and will go until 7 PM, June 4th. During specific times, donators will be eligible to win prizes. For every $5 a person donates, their name will be added to a raffle. For example, if you donate $25, your name will be added to the raffle five times. All United States residents will get free shipping; donors outside the United States will be asked to pay for shipping. The times which prizes will be handed out are labeled on their schedule in creme color.

The following is the mission statement for Hope For The Warriors, provided by The Marathon Man:

Hope For The Warriors® is a national, nonprofit organization that supports wounded U.S. service members, their families, and families of the fallen. A group of military wives founded the organization in 2006. They stood together as they witnessed, firsthand, the effects of the war on service members and their families. Since that time, Hope For The Warriors® has grown tremendously in the span of programs offered and the number of wounded and family members assisted.

While founded and headquartered in North Carolina, the organization maintains offices in New York, Washington, D.C., and Virginia. Its representatives cover California, Texas, Florida, Illinois, and Wyoming, enabling us to maintain a nation-wide presence. The leadership of the organization still remains in the dedicated hands of military wives.

Together, their board of directors, staff, and volunteers work tirelessly to serve those who have sacrificed so much. The integrity of their organization is paramount and therefore our representatives are as honorable and noble as our mission and the people we serve."

In addition to the above reasons, we decided to choose this charity based on its phenomenal rating on charity navigator. They received a near perfect score, which is rare! Here specifically is their rating page; feel free to check out their credentials. All of the 3rd party reviews on the site give it 5 stars out of 5. Impressive! The charity, as you read above, is young and up and coming. Show support for the United States veterans and make your money go a long way.

We are honored to bring Hope to the lives of our nation's heroes and their families; "Restoring: Self, Family, Hope.

Later this month, The Speed Gamers will be hosting a separate charity event for ACT Today. Their charity will begin June 15th, and we will create another report for them as we approach their start date.
