The starter Pokémon for Pokémon Sun and Moon, as well as its release dates, have been revealed.

Pokémon Sun and Moon will be released in Japan, North America, Australia, South Korea, and Hong Kong & Taiwan on November 18, 2016. They will be released in Europe on November 23, 2016.

The new starter Pokémon are Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio.

Additionally, two unnamed Pokémon appear on the box artwork of the games. There is a large Pokémon resembling a maned lion on the cover of Pokémon Sun, and a large bat-like Pokémon on the cover of Pokémon Moon.

The games are set in the Alola region. It appears to be based on Hawaii.

The character that gives the player their starter Pokémon is named Hala. Additionally, a character named Kukui also appears in the games.

The games appear to include character customization, like in Pokémon X and Y.
