Customizable Secret Bases have been announced for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Super-Secret Bases, an updated form of Secret Bases from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, are a customizable area that players can construct mazes or traps inside for visitors. Players can also create their own Pokémon battle rules.

Players can share their Super-Secret Bases using StreetPass. Players can also create a unique QR Code for their Super-Secret Base to share online. When visiting other Super-Secret Bases, players can meet other Trainers and invite base owners back to their own Secret Base as Secret Pals. Players can battle their Secret Pals. Alternately, players can interact with them to use their special skills, such as sharing Decorations, hatching Eggs faster, or raising a Pokémon's level by one.

There is also a capture-the-flag system; players can capture the flag (located next to the PC) from another player's Secret Base, once per day per flag. The more flags a player collects, the higher their rank; a higher rank improves the skills of Secret Pals.

Secret Base Expert Aarune and his Flygon are world travelers who will introduce the player to the Secret Base culture in Hoenn.
