It has emerged that The Pokémon Company will be making an appearance at this year's Jump Festa event on Dec. 17 and 18 — a first for the company.

Jump Festa is a two-day event sponsored by Shuiesha, one of Japan's major publishers. It allows companies to announce new anime, manga, movies and video games. It is important to note that there has been no announcement as to which of the said categories The Pokémon Company is participating in.

Shueisha is mostly known in the west for publishing the Japanese Weekly Shōnen Jump manga anthology. It, alongside Shogakukan and Hakusensa, also owns Viz Media, which publishes Pokémon manga in English. Shogakukan, founder Shuiesha, is a major publisher known for publishing titles such as Pokémon RéBurst and Pokémon Adventures.
