:: I was about to say the same thing, although I think that the grammar is technically okay if the writer was utilizing British English, since there seems to be some strange rules regarding plurality of some words/entities, where past-tense-related terms like "were/have" can be used for things that normally would be perceived as singular in American English (see [http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/937281-dragon-quest-ix-sentinels-of-the-starry-skies/55535176 this thread] for an example, pertaining to the statement "the enemy '''is/are''' defeated"). My personal opinion is that the statements of the Bulbanews article in question should be "Nintendo was" and "Nintendo has", which seems more proper, but I'll wait to see some other editors' opinions... You misspelled Glitch as flitch. Tag365 (talk) 14:23, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

I was about to say the same thing about "flitch". XD Kind of strange how the typo slipped through, since it's glaringly in the article's first sentence. Still, mistakes do happen... Fenyx4 (talk) 15:46, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Subject/Verb Agreement

Paragraph 1: Nintendo was quick to acknowledge the issue
Paragraph 2: Today, Nintendo has released that patch worldwide.

Since Nintendo is a singular entity, singular, third-person verb conjugations should be used.

I was about to say the same thing, although I think that the grammar is technically okay if the writer was utilizing British English, since there seems to be some strange rules regarding plurality of some words/entities, where past-tense-related terms like "were/have" can be used for things that normally would be perceived as singular in American English (see this thread for an example, pertaining to the statement "the enemy is/are defeated" in one of the Dragon Quest series' installments). My personal opinion is that the statements of the Bulbanews article in question should be "Nintendo was" and "Nintendo has", which seems more proper, but I'll wait to see some other editors' opinions...
