Lycos.com 10 year statistical records show Pokémon as #3

As a released statistical list of all the compiled query keywords in Lycos America for the past 10 years, Pokémon has ranked as third overall:

  1. Pamela Anderson
  2. Dragonball
  3. Pokémon
  4. Britney Spears
  5. WWE

Other Japanese anime and media have also ranked on the list, with Final Fantasy at #17, Sailor Moon at #31.

Pokémon Torō ze pre-orders open

At Pokémon Center locations across Japan, pre-orders for Pokémon Torō ze will be open beginning Oct. 1. Full details are still unknown. Participating locations will include: Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Yokohama. The Sapporo branch will not be participating.

Eighth movie releasing on DVD Dec. 22

Mew and the Wave-Guiding Hero: Lucario, the eighth Pokémon movie that premiered in Japanese theaters July 16, will be released on DVD in Japan on Dec. 22, presumably along with a VHS version. Special features on the DVD include: opening/ending theme screenshots, a database of Pokémon featured in the movie, an image gallery, a concept art gallery and the movie's trailer. The DVD's publisher is MediaFactory (catalog number ZMBS-568), and will retail for 4,179 yen (approx. US$37.15).
