The United Kingdom will be holding VGC Regional Championships this Spring, with the first tournament being in Sutton Coldfield on April 18.

This is the first time in the history of Pokémon Organized Play that the United Kingdom has held Regional Championships, which is possibly due to the country's smaller size in comparison to other countries that regularly hold Regionals, such as the United States.

Although these tournaments will be a regular part of the VGC circuit this year, they are not funded by the Pokémon Company International. In North American Premier Events, TPCi provides money for matters such as venue hire and prize support, but in Europe tournament organizers are left to pay. Otherwise, the Regional Championships are a regular part of Organized Play this year.

The first tournament being held in Sutton Coldfield on April 18 will cost £5 for Juniors and Seniors and £10 for Masters. Players must preregister by emailing their player information to the tournament organizer. The tournament will follow 2015 VGC format. Further information can be found on the event's Facebook page.
