The final episode of Pokémon Sunday has just ended in Japan. The episode featured clips of memorable events from past episodes and a segment wishing farewell to the Slowpoke Akiyama character.

Next week will mark the premiere of Pokémon Smash!, a similar variety program to air in Pokémon Sunday's timeslot. The new program is described as being more geared towards a worldwide audience.
