Unshō Ishizuka

Japanese voice actor Unshō Ishizuka has passed away at the age of 67 on August 13, 2018. The cause of death was esophageal cancer.

In the Pokémon anime, Unshō Ishizuka had provided the voice for the series narrator, Professor Oak, Samson Oak, Alder, Gurkinn, and numerous Pokémon.

Due to already recording his parts for upcoming episodes, his voice will continue to appear in the Pokémon anime until the episode scheduled for the first week of October. His replacement has not yet been determined.

He is also well-known for voicing Joseph Joestar in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Mr. Satan in the Dragon Ball franchise, Heihachi Mishima in Tekken, Zabuza Momochi in Naruto, and Kizaru (Borsalino) in One Piece.
