:背負 is usually pronounced "seo", but in some circumstances it seems to become "sho" - for example, in the word 背負い革, meaning 'sling'. As for this particular phrase... I actually found it romanised both ways, but "sho" seemed to be the more common of the two, and my dictionaries seem to back this up as the correct pronunciation. My Japanese is pretty awful though, so I always welcome corrections! [[User:George Hutcheon|George Hutcheon]] 17:41, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
